WTF is BlackOut.

The BlackOut is a political statement. I will simply wear black everyday of 2012... Until my people are enlightened, i will be in the dark.

I feel there is a time to take responsibility for ourselves and our communities. I am now 30 years and I can't even imagine sitting back making excuses anymore. Before, it was easy to point and place blame on others but now we are the adults, the responsible party. The future of the little ones today is in our hands. We have to think about them and how we will be remembered.

It is hard for many people to stand up for what they believe in. It is even harder for the ones who don't believe in anything to support something. I have come across many people throughout the years that have had a nonchalant attitude about the troubles of the world. They don't understand the web of consequences that they are involved in. How the trickle has stopped at the doors of the hoods, ghettos, and even suburban neighborhoods. They underestimate their own work and judge themselves on the minimum of their abilities. We are worth so much more.

It is possible for us to be free from the thoughts of jealousy, the thoughts of insecurity, and the thoughts of betrayal. We have the abilities to remove the cloak from our eyes and to open our hearts. Everyone is different. We were not brought into this world in a mold so it is irresponsible and inconsiderate to believe that we will someday all be cookie cutter images of... well, anyone. Even identical twins have differences.

There social and economic barriers. Not even including sexual, sexuality, and race inequalities. All of these prejudices are an illusion that could be lived or let go. People don't know how evil they are until they realize how prejudice they are. People will lie, cheat, steal, manipulate, and every thing else to get something they want. And what do they want it for... just to show it off. I guess you can show it off since you can buy it huh... what's the song say "if it's mine, I spend it".

We have to take responsibility for our decisions. We have to teach, lead, and comfort our children. We have to see the illusion and recognize the things that are only here to divide us. Everyone deserves a chance to be happy. No one knows whats right and wrong and the Constitution guarantees us freedom of religion and that means we have the freedom not to choose one at all. So who is to judge. If you believe it is God, Jesus, or anyone else then you should know that you are not to judge so let my people go!

That is how i feel.

Let the homosexuals go!
Let the battered women who need abortions go!
Let the innocent on death row go!
Let the women go!
Let the hatred go!

We are all here to love and be loved and until we are all free... I can never be at peace. I will find comfort in the darkness I envelop myself in...
